DAY 1: Delhi - Agra
After an early breakfast, leave for Agra which is 250 kms from Delhi and about a four hour drive. Reach Agra and check in at the Hotel. Post lunch you will be taken to visit the famous monument of love-Taj Mahal. This most famous Mughal monument was constructed by Emperor Shahjahan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal who died while giving birth to his 14th child and after just 17 yrs of marriage. It has been described as the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The central structure has four small domes surrounding the huge central dome. Taj Mahal is not open to visitors on Fridays.
After Taj Mahal, visit the Agra Fort which lies on the bend of the river Yamuna, almost in the heart of town. It was built by Emperor Akbar as his citadel over the years 1563-73 in the finest architectural style. It has imposing gates and walls of red sandstone and a moat. Overnight at the Hotel.

The drive from Agra to Jaipur takes about 4 hours as the distance is 238 kms. After breakfast visit Fatehpur Sikri enroute to Jaipur. Fatehpur Sikri is the deserted red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital and palace in the 16th century. Upon arrival at Jaipur check in at the Hotel and rest for a while. visit City Palace in the heart of the old city which is the former royal residence that houses a museum with a superb collection of Rajasthani costumes and an armoury of the Mughals and the Rajputs. Overnight at the hotel.

Also visit the landmark of the 'Pink City' Hawa Mahal or the palace of winds, built to enable the ladies of the royal household to watch the processions passing in the street without being seen.
Post Lunch visit the famous Amber Fort and Palace en route to Delhi.
The fort is a striking example of Rajput architecture situated on a hill side and overlooking a lake, which reflects the fort's ramparts and terraces. Here you will be taken on an elephant back, in the traditional royal style to the main gate of the Fort and back. Reach Delhi by late evening.

Visit the Jallianwala Bagh famous for the most notorious massacre that took place during the times of the British and
which shook up the sentiments of all Indians. The British General Dyer was the Lieutenant Governor of the province in the year 1919 and had banned all meetings and demonstrations by the Indians against the British rule. On the fateful day of 13th April 1919, as the Sikhs had gathered in these open grounds to celebrate Baisakhi (a Punjabi Festival), General Dyer led his troops to the park, blocked the narrow entrance and exit point of the garden and commanded them to open fire without any warning. Hundreds of innocent people got killed and thousands were injured. Today the park holds testimony to all that it had witnessed in the past. There are bullet marks on the walls, the well where many women and children lost their lives while running in panic, and the exact place where General Dyer stood to give his orders has been marked. A memorial has also been built for all those who lost their lives.
Also visit Maharaja Ranjit Singh's Museum which has been built in his summer palace and contains weapons dating back to the Mughal times and some portraits of the ruling houses of Punjab and a replica of the famous diamond 'kohinoor'.
